Terms & Conditions
Last updated: 7 September 2026
These terms apply to every booking made with Gulmarg Snowline. Please read them before you pay a deposit — paying a deposit means you accept them on behalf of everyone in your booking.
1. About Us
Gulmarg Snowline, Forest Block, Gulmarg, Jammu and Kashmir 193402, India.
Phone +91 70516 61552. Email info@gulmargsnowline.com.
In these terms, "we", "us" and "our" mean Gulmarg Snowline. "You" means the person making the booking and everyone included in it.
2. Bookings
A booking is confirmed only when we have received your deposit and sent you a written confirmation by email or WhatsApp. An enquiry, a quote or a verbal agreement does not hold a place.
A deposit of 25% of the total package price is required to confirm your booking. The balance is due no later than 30 days before your arrival date.
For bookings made within 30 days of arrival, the full amount is payable at the time of booking.
If the balance is not received by the due date we will contact you first. If it remains unpaid after that, we may treat the booking as cancelled by you, and the cancellation terms in our Cancellation & Refund Policy will apply.
3. Prices and Payment
All prices are quoted in Indian Rupees (INR) per person.
We accept bank transfer and UPI. Any bank charges, international transfer fees or currency conversion costs are payable by you and are not deducted from the amount due to us.
The price confirmed in writing at the time of booking is the price you pay. We do not increase a confirmed price. Prices shown on this website are for guidance and may change before you book.
4. Your Responsibilities
You are responsible for holding valid identification and any permits required for travel to Gulmarg, for arriving on the agreed date, for declaring any medical condition or injury that could affect your participation, for declaring your actual skill level honestly, and for following your instructor's safety directions at all times.
Declaring your ability honestly matters for your safety. Your instructor chooses terrain based on what you tell us, and overstating your experience puts you and others at risk.
Participants must be at least 8 years old. Anyone under 18 must have a parent or guardian consent to the booking, and we may ask for a guardian to be contactable during the trip.
Your instructor may end a session, or move you to easier terrain, if they judge that continuing is unsafe. This is a safety decision and does not entitle you to a refund.
5. Health, Fitness and Risk
Skiing and snowboarding carry a risk of serious injury. Gulmarg operates at altitude — the base sits at approximately 2,650m and the gondola reaches significantly higher.
You should be in reasonable general health and able to manage a full day of physical activity in cold conditions at altitude. You do not need to be an athlete, but you do need to be honest with us about your fitness.
You must tell us before your first day about any medical condition, injury, allergy, medication or pregnancy that could affect your participation or the assistance you might need. You can tell us in confidence at info@gulmargsnowline.com.
By booking, you confirm that you understand skiing and snowboarding involve inherent risks that cannot be removed — including falls, collisions, changing snow and weather, and the actions of other people on the mountain — and that you accept those risks.
6. Insurance
Travel and medical insurance is not included in any package, and you must arrange your own.
Your policy must cover winter sports, including skiing or snowboarding off marked runs if your package includes that terrain. It should also cover medical treatment, mountain rescue, evacuation and repatriation, and trip cancellation.
We may ask to see evidence of insurance before your first day on the mountain. We strongly recommend you do not travel without it — medical evacuation from mountain terrain is expensive and is not something we can fund on your behalf.
7. Equipment
Equipment is issued in working condition and fitted before your first day.
You are responsible for the equipment issued to you for the duration of your package. Please report any damage or problem to us straight away rather than continuing to use it.
Fair wear and tear from normal use is expected and is not charged. You are responsible for the repair or replacement cost of equipment that is lost, stolen while in your care, or damaged through misuse or negligence. We will tell you the cost in writing before charging anything.
Equipment must be returned at the end of your package. Equipment not returned is charged at replacement cost.
8. Weather, Snow and Gondola Access
Mountain conditions in Gulmarg change daily. Lift access, specific runs and the Kongdoori descent are subject to weather, snow conditions and operator access, and are not guaranteed.
The Gulmarg Gondola is operated by a third party, not by us. We cannot influence when it opens or closes, and its closure is not a failure to deliver your package.
If weather or lift closure prevents a planned activity, your instructor will use the time on alternative terrain that is open and safe. Where a full day is lost and your package still has days remaining, we will make reasonable efforts to reschedule that instruction within your existing dates.
Because instructor time, transfers and equipment are still provided, days affected by weather or lift closure are not refunded. This is the main reason we ask you to hold travel insurance that covers trip disruption.
9. Changes by You
If you want to change your dates, tell us as early as you can and we will try to help.
Date changes requested 30 days or more before arrival are made free of charge, subject to availability. If the new dates carry a higher price, you pay the difference.
Date changes requested within 30 days of arrival are treated as a cancellation and rebooking, and the terms in our Cancellation & Refund Policy apply.
You may transfer a booking to another person up to 14 days before arrival at no charge, provided they meet the same requirements and accept these terms. Moving to a longer package is possible subject to availability; you pay the difference.
10. Changes or Cancellation by Us
We may need to change the detail of your package — the instructor assigned to you, the order of days, or the terrain used — to keep it safe and workable. These are not significant changes and do not entitle you to a refund.
If we have to make a significant change, or cancel your package altogether, we will tell you as soon as we can and offer you a choice of alternative dates, an alternative package of equivalent value, or a full refund of everything you have paid us.
We may cancel where circumstances beyond our reasonable control make it unsafe or impossible to run — including extreme weather, avalanche risk, prolonged lift closure, natural disaster, government restrictions on travel to the area, or civil disruption. In those circumstances your choice of alternative dates, alternative package or full refund still stands.
Our liability where we cancel is limited to the refund or alternative described above. We are not able to reimburse flights, accommodation booked elsewhere, or other costs you arranged independently, which is again why insurance matters.
11. Liability
We are responsible for providing the services described in your package with reasonable care and skill.
We are not liable for the inherent risks of skiing and snowboarding described in section 5, for the acts of other people on the mountain, for third-party operators such as the gondola, or for loss or damage caused by you not following your instructor's safety directions or not declaring a relevant medical condition or your true ability.
Where we are found liable for loss or damage, our liability is limited to the total amount you paid us for the package, except where the law does not allow that limit.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
We are not liable for loss of enjoyment, loss of earnings, or other indirect or consequential loss.
12. Complaints
If something is wrong, tell your instructor or a member of the Gulmarg Snowline team straight away, while you are still in Gulmarg. Most problems can be fixed on the spot, and we cannot fix a problem we do not know about.
If it is not resolved at the time, write to us at info@gulmargsnowline.com within 28 days of the end of your package, setting out what happened and what you would like us to do.
We will acknowledge your complaint within 7 days and give you a full response within 28 days.
13. Photography
Our instructors and guides sometimes take photographs and video during sessions. We are happy to share these with you, and we may also use them on this website, in our brochures and on our social media channels.
If you would prefer not to appear in images we publish, tell your instructor at the start of your package or email info@gulmargsnowline.com. There is no need to give a reason, and it will not affect your booking in any way.
You can also ask us to remove an image of you that we have already published, and we will do so. How we handle your images is covered in our Privacy Policy.
14. Governing Law
These terms and any dispute arising from them are governed by the laws of India.
The courts of Jammu and Kashmir have exclusive jurisdiction, except that if you are a consumer resident elsewhere, this does not remove any protection or right to bring proceedings that the law of your country of residence gives you.
We would always rather resolve a problem directly. Please raise it with us under section 12 before taking any formal step.
